Trawiz - The TCS travel app
Problem Statement:
The task at hand is to develop a seamless travel solution tailored for TCS associates through the creation of a dedicated internal Travel App. This application must be versatile, offering both mobile and desktop versions, and encompass an array of essential features. These include facilitating travel initiation, enabling flight and accommodation selection, itinerary tracking, access to booked tickets and boarding passes, expense management, destination overviews, and the ability to reschedule or cancel travel plans. Moreover, the app should efficiently handle tracking expenses and foreign currency exchanges for both domestic and international travel scenarios.
Approach:
My strategy commenced with comprehensive secondary research, delving into the nuances of travel-related procedures including cancellation, rescheduling, and travel extension. Concurrently, there was a concerted effort to engage stakeholders continuously, aligning project objectives with organizational goals and user expectations. Through user interviews, I gained invaluable perspectives, guiding the prioritization and refinement of features. Detailed wireframes were then crafted to visualize and iterate design concepts effectively. Subsequent usability testing was conducted to validate the functionality and user experience, ensuring the ultimate success and user-friendliness of the final product.
Deliverables:
The deliverables encompass a comprehensive set of wireframes covering various use cases for cancellation, rescheduling, and travel extension, both for domestic and international travel scenarios. Additionally, special use cases such as alternate email ID provision, secondary person app access, and accommodations for associates with unique needs (e.g., taller than average or with disabilities) are addressed through tailored wireframes. Usability testing is conducted to validate the usability and effectiveness of the app, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of TCS associates. Finally, the design of a detailed Trawiz user manual facilitates seamless adoption and utilization of the application across the organization.
